KADENCE FERGERSTROM is 12 years old, a 7th grader at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama, and has spent more time onstage and off, training in the Arts, than most children her age. For almost a decade, Kadence has been trained in voice, acting, and almost every style of dance; her favorite being Ballet and Pointe. She has competed in and won local and National Voice & Dance competitions since the age of 3. She has also performed in over 20 musical theatre productions, since 2009, getting cast in ensemble roles, features, and even principal leads over the years! She's been invited to sing the Hawaii State Anthem for the University of Hawaii Athletic events, is excited for a new opportunity to host for Brown Bags to Stardom, and has recently qualified for the Corps Team for Kamehameha Dance Company. You might also recognize her from a recent television commercial for "Lemonade Alley for Earth Day", in which she was the girl holding the lemons to her eyes! Other commercial and short film credits include 2 University of Hawaii Academy of Creative Media films, and a mini-golf commercial for Pearlridge Shopping Center.
Since the young age of 4, Kadence has also competed in pageantry, notably winning her first Ultimate (Overall) title at the young age of 5 years old. She recognized, at that very young age, that pageantry gave her a platform... a voice... a wider reach, in which to spread the positive values she consistently lives by, and gave her the ability to make a difference, and real change, in her community. She earned the title of Miss Hawaii Elementary America in 2017, and spent her year-long reign volunteering at beach cleanups, homeless shelters, retirement communities, as well as spending hours of her "freetime" collecting donations for foster children, the Special Olympics, veterans in need, etc. In 2018, she competed for, and won, the title of International Jr. Miss Hawaii Pre-Teen, which allowed her to travel to San Antonio, Texas, where she made friends from around the world, and represented the 808 State with grace, kindness, and spirit.
Kadence hopes to continue her efforts in community service through the Non-Profit Organization she co-founded called The Secret Santa Project Hawaii. Their mission is to bring Christmas to houseless children, and families in need. The girls collect monetary and gift donations, wrap them, and deliver them to shelters around the island. In 2017, they were able to give back to over 420 children!!! Kadence is currently working on starting her own nonprofit organization, which she hopes to launch soon, as she continues to pursue her dreams of changing our world for the betterment of a stronger society.
She is so excited to be a part of the For Kids By Kids family.
